The Lighter Side: Tonight's Big Question - GO or STAY..? ;-)

Greetings All

I expect that many of You Lot here in the UK are waiting with baited breath around Tonight's Crucial Vote on an Important Person's Fate in the Big Scheme of Things.

Some of you might emphatically say (or already have said?) 'GO!'. Others, similarly, 'STAY'!

I confess, I share your Dilemma: should Tedski Stay or Go after his recent poor performance at Benjamin Mansions (e.g. failing to secure a Satisfactory Result in the on-going Boeuf Stroganoff Vs. Good Old English Fish Pie Negotiations). And not forgetting his handling of the Border Agreement (i.e. helping me to understand the border between Reality and Fantasy?).

All I can say is: I've concluded that the only Solution is to flog (sell) Tedksi on ebay, to settle this acrimonious and divisive issue. So, it's all Bids considered (only to sell him please, not to keep him - hah ha!) :-D

Either way, and irrespective of your political persuasions in the current political turmoil, try to keep smiling during these uncertain times.

And finally..?

Try to remember that Politics is a complex business, and Governments will come and go. But in the Big Scheme of Things, our Health and Sanity are the most precious things to look after, regardless.

'Uncle' MB ;-)

Too busy trying to do an online shop to worry about anything else! Bl##dy site keeps crashing - that must be an omen!

Might have to break out the Christmas goodies early 🤦🏻‍♀️

That is so annoying, it happened to me too.The site just kept stopping.Delivery tomorrow phew!

Take the stress out of Christmas and agree with your family and friends not to buy each other presents. We did decades ago and you have a much more relaxed Christmas.

Spend the money on yourself and you are far more likely to get something you want/need/can enjoy!

That's it then: I've just ordered my brand new all-singing-and-dancing Maserati online. Only problem is, how to pay for it? Maybe Tedski will chuck in a few quid since he will be driving it too (if I let him).. :-D

Hi Thomas, I agree.

Whether in hard financial times or not, I find that Personalised 'Gift Vouchers' work well. Not necessarily bought from the shops: maybe just a card / printed voucher to say "I promise to clean your car / put up some shelves / do the garden / help you with.." etc. The 'Gift' can often be about the intention and commitment more than the material item :-)

Ha DL - I noticed that too whilst composing my Post. Some strange and inexplicable 'mis-keyed' entries despite being totally Compos Mentis. Mmmm...

Greetings gaqke. I agree, the Western World seems to be holding its collective breath in these uncertain and fast-changing times? Dunno about the Other Lot though... ;-D

Flogging anyone and everyone is a fine Naval tradition - so crack on. Oh, 'sell' - nowhere near as much fun. And, as to your important person issue - joining the southern colonial club maybe you are (I am reading Midsummer Nights Dream at the mo') - another week, another PM.........

Or was my comment more Yoda from Star Wars???

DorsetLady profile image
DorsetLadyPMRGCAuk volunteer in reply to PiersC

More like rejoining the southern colonial club. I’m old enough to remember before we got entrenched with the EEC as it was then!

But maybe you won’t want us - all eyes to the Far East now for you and NZ!

PiersC in reply to DorsetLady

Oh I don't know - we might have a couple of sheep, a few steaks and the odd bottle of plonk that we could get onto the shelves of the providors back in the old country (of course we would have to wean you lot off that foreign continental tractor wash-down red and white stuff you are forced to have at the moment !!! :-))

(Trust you are well DL and tracking ok in the cold.....)

Actually I’m rather partial to the old Kiwi plonk! (Sorry!)

Struggling a bit at the moment with arthritic hip - had my pre op assessment today - and op scheduled for 10 Jan.

Hopefully then I shall be leaping around like a spring lamb!

Could do with some of your summer weather, that’s for sure!☀️

Jeezaloo, you have NO IDEA how much many of us in the States would love to be able to have a "No Confidence" vote right now.

Oh I think we do. Your situation is beyond belief. Beyond bizarre. It has strengthened the affection we have for the American people who are struggling xxxxx

I know what you mean G_G, but I'd better not express an opinion either way here about how our Domestic (let alone International) Politics actually work. Even the suggestion of one has resulted in some pretty strong responses in the past!

Mark what a marvellous idea to sell off those who behave badly. Of course I claim immunity for myself I hasten to add ....

Please don’t flog poor Tedski,he may sometimes try your patience to the extreme, but l am sure we would all find it difficult to imagine you without him now Mark.l agree with Sandradsn, poor little Tedski........as for ,dare l mention it here,’Brexit’,the whole of the government should pull together on this and make sure we leave, not half leave or remain.Leave won the democratic vote and they should honour that ! I hope we still get our meds though ........

Don't be fooled Grants. Take it from me - Tedski's more slippery than a Box of Frogs... :-D

"our Health and Sanity are the most precious things to look after, regardless."

Which is why that lot in London need to stop their fooling about - because it's not doing my sanity any good wondering what my status will be on March 29th next.

Whatever! It won’t change where you live. You will still be you. “We” will still be living in beautiful surroundings and, we have a health system that works (well better than in the UK at the moment).

Life is good!

I thought Tedski was your imaginary beastie besty If you flog him on eBay you will be lonely and sad. A Tedski is for life. You can’t debate on complex issues such as Fish Pie versus Boeuf Bourgoinone. There are much more important things in life to ponder. Like “What is Brexit” “Who is Tez May” “Stay or Leave”. What does any of it mean?

Anyway if you need some respite care from Tedski we can do an Airbnb (if I knew what that was) swop for a very cute Elf? No flogging required?

Tedski? Air B&B? I'll send him now.. :-D

Can we all see the infamous Tedski? A photo or photofit from his no doubt dubious past?

markbenjamin57 profile image
markbenjamin57 in reply to Estellemac

Can't reply with a photo of Tedski here Estelle, but if you look through a few of my recent Posts you'll find him there somewhere... ;-)

Hi Mark. No I didn't stay up to hear the result as it would still be the same the next day and I would rather get my beauty sleep, ha ha I must say though that Theresa May must be a strong character to have come through all this after what she has been through of late. I don't follow politics BUT what I would like to know is WHO, in the first place, started this ball rolling as to whether to leave or not leave the E.U?

Happy Christmas.

Quite, Dot: i.e. how did all this start? (Answer: ask the previous PM..?). As for TM: I agree - she has great shown tenacity in a massively complex and difficult negotiation all round. Beyond that, probably best not get into contentious Political discussions here...? :-)

To quote an old (and nowadays sexist) proverb: "It's not over until the ...." etc? :-D
