Tia?

Been to rheumatologist appointment today after biopsy yesterday, she wants me to carry on 40mg of pred for the next 2 weeks but has referred me to TIA clinic tomorrow with a view of the possibility of a MRI scan asap, things moving very fast, not sure what to think now.

Things are moving quickly. I take it your Temporal Biopsy was inconclusive? That is apparently quite usual, they can rule GCA in but not rule it out. So further tests are indicated and you are still symptomatic?

Wishing you well, it sounds like you are in good thorough hands. Write down a list of your questions for the Rheumatologist. Some do need prompting.

Doubt they've had time to assess it unless they do frozen sections like they do in cancer surgery.

Biopsy not had time for full results yet, symptoms still very tender scalp but headache thankfully much improved

Accept it gratefully - she is being thorough, unlike many of her colleagues.

I am delighted with the prompt care I have received thus far, I am sure they will eventually work out what is going on and put me straight. Looking forward to being fit again.

Try not to think too much as this stage and be grateful you are being checked out - not all are so lucky. I had ultra sound when they suspected a TIA prior to diagnosis of GCA.

Thanks for the input, it's all a bit bewildering but I am very grateful for the prompt care I have received
