Good bone scan!

Had a bone scan this afternoon ( first ever), and was amazed that I seem to have bones as strong as an ox, so I won’t be taking Alendroic acid. Nice to get some good news for a change!

That's great news! I go for my first ever scan at the end of the month, and hope my bones turn out to be as good as yours, and then like you I too won't be taking the alendronic acid. I am resisting the pressure from the dr.

Good luck- all my years of humping heavy shopping bags (supposedly good for bone strength) and munching cheese seem to have paid off!

So you were informed at time of scan - OH went 3 weeks ago and was told results would be through in aroun 6 weeks.

Good news for you!

Yes, the radiographer showed me the results on the screen there and then- took 2 minutes!

They do here - but they aren't really supposed to until it has been approved by a senior clinical staff member.

I had to wait nearly three months before they got round to sending the results.

Pleased for you. Mine showed Osteoporosis. AA gave tummy aches, changed med, now given up and take nothing. I must add that I also have curvature of the spine, so that may be a factor. 'Bones as strong as an ox'....good on you!

Very sorry- I was not meaning to gloat, but it was a very welcome piece of good news in what otherwise seems a sea of complete despair.

Don't apologise...didn't take it as gloating.

I had my bone scan on Monday and was told results will go to my doctor in 4 weeks time. I hope I get good news as I really don't want to take alendronic acid. Great news for you.
