Tocilizumab is already being used by some rheumies for PMR as well as GCA where it has been approved internationally. But it is very expensive so use for PMR is probably not likely to happen.

But as I understand the article - rituximab is for GPA and I think it is already being used for a few forms of vasculitis anyway. And as for describing tocilizumab as a "less toxic therapy" - hum!

Sometimes better the devil you know!

But we have to be open minded until proven one way or t’other.
