Exaggerated Lordosis of the lumber spine

My rheumatologist has informed me that I have the above and I would like to know if anyone has had this with PMR/GCA.

explains it fairly well. It is mainly a fancy word to describe the shape of your spine - but there are various causes as the article says so the doctor may have a look to see if you have any of them.

While PMR is unlikely to cause lordosis - lordosis can cause muscle pain which could be mistaken for PMR or make PMR feel worse. I have the opposite to you, the curve is too flat. It exerts stresses on the back muscles and that can lead to pain and them going into spasm. I also have myofascial pain syndrome which is all mixed up with the rest. When it is well managed with physiotherapy and massage I can manage the PMR part with a lower dose of oral pred.

I am wondering if I have perhaps inherited it and the steroids have caused the reactions that I have had.

Steroids get blamed for a lot - but I can't see how they could have caused it. But who knows.

My spine is always described as having lordosis. Partly genetic and partly due to it being damaged when I was 19. As PMRPro says its the way they describe the shape of your spine.
