I am two months from seeing the rheumatologist for the first time. Been taking 37.5mg of tramadol... eight pills a day for medial knee pain and finding it isn't doing the trick for pain. My GP had given me 5mg pills of prednisone to take in case of emergency flare after I had my first episode. I can't get hold of my GP this am and I'm wondering if there are interactions between these two? Is it safe to take at the same time?
edit I see there are links to other tramadol posts on the site after I posted and found them helpful thanks

There are people who take both. If you have a tentative diagnosis of PMR and the knee pain is due to PMR - tramadol won't touch it. Never ceases to amaze me how they dish out tramadol without a second thought and then have a hissy fit about pred.
Thanks for the reply. Was wondering about PMR diagnosis in the knees... pain/tension upon first opening my eyes in the am but with movement seems to ease off. Will have a trial without tramadol and see how it goes.
Just wanted to add...Have been wearing compression socks hiked up above my knees and compression sleeve...both seem to help.
