My personal suspicion would be your adrenal function trying to catch up - those are typical symptoms. They should improve over the next week or so - but if they don't, maybe 7.5mg is the place to be for now and then try again in a few weeks.

I did wonder if adrenals were not up to 7mg. I will give it another week as you advise and if no improvement I will go back to 7.5. I wonder if D octors realise how many appointments you and the other good ladies save them each year! Thanks Pmrpro

I am on 8mg, having tapered by half a milligram a month from 10mg (been on pred for 2 years with GCA), I am more dizzy now than almost any other stage - I think it has to be the adrenal problem.

I have been on pred for nearly two years... got down to 6mgs January this year and started with dizzy spells anxiety attacks etc; went to 8mgs and have been reducing very slowly. Dizzy spells started at 7mgs with the well known fatigue. Hang in there Sho-sho. Not gonna give in (not yet

Absolutely, I refuse to go up again it's taken so long to get here, will just stick it out until my body re-adjusts.

Thanks

I am so sorry you are having these side effects. I had the same reaction. The last 10mg were so hard to come down from. I was dizzy, shaky, and had no energy at all. Your body needs to start producing cortisol again. It takes a while for everything in your system to balance again. I spent most of November and December sitting on the couch. I hope it gets better for you as it did for me. Stay strong that is a rough time. Thinking of you.

The 'dizzy' stuff can be truly dreadful - I also had it on and off when reducing from much higher doses - but it should 'pass' - just take it easy ...

Best wishes
