Nothing like national pride to spike the adrenal function, or near misses on a winter night road in my case. Big celebration all by myself, everyone is into rugby down here but I can have a Mexican wave for 1

Here in NZ it's much the same - rugby rules. My NZ sons follow the FIFA World Cup of course . It was a nail biting game for sure. I was jumping up & down at the first goal ( by myself ) and then stressed out during the extra time and penalty shoot out. Great result in the end!

Must admit I did watch extra time and penalty shoot out - but not the whole match - can’t be doing with that! But good result!

Perhaps Gareth Southgate can now be remembered for something else!

I've been watching Engerland since 1966 it doesn't get any easier.

Very true. It's more enjoyable watching other teams play. But I have to confess to a degree of masochism! I am after all a"Bluenose"! (Birmingham City)

As are my 2 sons!! I had to go outside during the penalties and water the garden!! Neighbours all had Windows and doors open and I could hear all the cheering , oops and aaars!!! Hubby was hoarse !!! Lol well done England!!👍👍👍👍

I don't even like "football," but even I was glued to the edge of my seat! I had lost count of who had what and when England scored the last one; I turned to my husband who just sat there with a look of absolute disbelief on his face and I asked, "Did we win?"

...and then there was hooting and hollering!!!! : )

I had to go somewhere else during the penalties, couldn't cope with the excitement. Think I need to get a life!

in reply to Jackoh

Mad passion ! Old England ! Did a lot of verbals myself! Red Card! Have to admire the nerve & pressure in those situations!

I had to look through my fingers at the penalties. Why do we do that? Such tension.
