See previous post - bloods came back fine so GP stopped my atorvastatin to see if that would help. Nope , pains worse and now as well as shoulders, neck and arms it’s now in hips.
I upped pred to 10 mg last week after seeing a locum GP - still no ease.
I see my regular GP Thursday who decided if pain did not subside after stopping statin ( been on it 6 years ), he would refer me to rheumatology.
I find it so difficult when my family say “ take paracetamol “ how often can you say they don’t work.
I’ve already got the weepies on 10 mg god help me I’ll be back up to 15mg on Thursday I’ll be to take away.
Moon face here I come.

Many people have cut carbs drastically and avoided gaining weight and even, to a great extent, the moon face.
Just bear in mind that untreated PMR puts you at a higher risk of progressing to GCA. When your sight might be put at risk, chubby cheeks are an acceptable effect.
I’m already two and a half years down the line with GCA I thought I’d missed the bullet of PMR. I’ve just lost 19 pounds on slimming world - so I’m going to stick to that and hopefully it won’t be as bad as last time
So sorry Pamela, 😢 Been there, recognise the landscape. Not a good place. Sending you an enormous, understanding hug.
The stupid Statins probably caused this in the first place, stay off them, ( Other views are available).
Maybe the moon face won't come back. You could try banning sugar, processed foods and carbs, for the duration. There are slender sylphs on here - not me.
The Royal wedding did me good because I cried from start to finish, not a royalist, but who can forget the 12 year old walking behind his mother’s coffin. All cried out, I felt better.
Weepies came for me when the adrenals weren't up to snuff. Needed more pred. , more rest, less stress. I know it's hard but you'll feel better on the dose your body needs. Maybe try going up just 2.5 see if it's enough.
