Good morning

No it is 4mg where I’m to take for 6days. And no they did not explain why such a low dose. I’m not sure anymore. Im still not myself. Woke up with the same symptoms but this time I’m a dizzyer then usual. Not sure if i should continue with the prednisone. I’m most definitely going to call first thing Monday morning. So that’s where I am at this point. It is totally useless to go to ER. AS THEY HAVE NO CLUE.

Ooooooo, I see (and understand why) you have no faith in the ER, but you may have no choice... Its a long time until Monday. If your symptoms are the same or worse now because of the dizziness... you may have to trust them. ...and yes, you should continue with the Pred. I think stopping would make you feel worse! I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

If you have been on 50mg for more than a week or two surely you need to go back on a bigger dose. 4mg doesn't even help your body replace natural hormones. That us a dose of 7 to 10. I am surprised you are able to function at all at the moment. Please get urgent care Huma.

Hi,

I think we could offer better advice if we understand your journey better.

When did you start on prednisone and what was the dose?

How has it changed?

You mentioned a tapering pack of 4 mg. Ususally you take several pills the first day and take less and less with the days that follow. Can you tell us that schedule?

Also- what country are you in? How you manage the medical system changes based on your location.

I do think you need help quickly. The question is how to get you to the right doctor as soon as possible.

I imagine your body is having real trouble having been on high doses and now a tiny dose which would account for some of your symptoms. Stopping Pred after taking a high dose for a couple of weeks is not good for you at all. Was the person who put you on 4mg the same person who thought you might have GCA? If it wasn’t, did they have all the facts about what’s been happening?
