Many of you will have already picked up that our very own 'PMRpro' aka Eileen, and 'Dorset Lady' have come out on top of all the people on HU for the difference their positivity makes to members. It's fantastic that we have two overall winners who dedicate loads of time, practically every day, to helping people all over the world with their knowledge, and, crucially, their support. Thank you so much - the community just wouldn't be the same without you!

Well done ladies! Justly deserved. We're so lucky to have you both to help so many people get through this condition and make the best of difficult times through your humour, personal experience, knowledge, care and support. Congratulations to you both. Thank you for being there for us all.
PMRpro (Eileen) and DorsetLady (aka 'DL') are faultless, expert, thoughtful and ever-reliable contributors to this community, and deserve all due credit for their input here.
Although many 'Newbies' here (like me, once upon a time) might be confused and wary about who to trust and listen to about all things PMR and GCA, they bring a wealth of wisdom and objectivity to this forum. Although straight-talking at times and when necessary, 'The Aunties' do a great job.
And, not to forget?.. the continuing steam of input from 'old' (or, perhaps not so 'old'!) and new members of this community who send Posts and respond to the many and diverse threads - which also keep the forum alive and thriving.
Here's to all in the PMRGCA Health Unlocked, as well as the PMR / GCA 'Aunties' - keep up your great work everyone!
Both ladies have made a big difference to my quality of life. Before I found this Forum, and listened to their advice on steroid tapering, I was in a mess. I can now, hopefully, see the end of the tunnel. many thanks PMRpro and Dorset lady - you deserve this Award.
I once asked PMRpro if she didn’t feel like she was stuck in a role like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day: Newbies (and oldies) asking the same questions over and over and over. She graciously said something like ‘no, each person and question is unique’. I cannot imagine the thousands of people that she and DorsetLady have helped. And I’d hate to think where all of us would be without them.
Someone once told me that my great grandmother was an angel walking on Earth. I think they are, too.
Wow! We are the lucky ones to gain support and insight from such giving and knowledgeable ladies! I am fairly new here but have found a wealth of information. I don’t always post but I read and read and read. So many posts have the same issues that I deal with. Thank you and congratulations to PMRpro and Dorset Lady!
I have only recently been diagnosed with PMR. I have found this site invaluable in helping me to get my head around this condition. PMRpro or Eileen and Dorset lady are my 'go to ' people. Thank you and well done to you both. And thank you to all the other people providing invaluable information and support. I'm back at my GP on the 26th where I will make sure he has details of relevant sources of information from PPMRGCAuk, plus copy of the Bristol tapering plan for what I assume will be the next conversation. Thanks once again. I would have been lost without you all.

Same here. Once upon a time I had read every post there had been on the original PMRGCA forum on patient.info and then a question come up to which I knew the scientific answer from my background. It's been all downhill ever since...
The advice given by PMRPro and Dorset Lady have helped build confidence to deal with all medical issues in a new way. I realize I am in charge, not the Dr. Pre PMR diagnosis I simply followed doctor’s orders. No more. Thanks ladies for helping me build my feisty muscle!

I've already replied on yogabonnies post that I think they should be included in the honours list! They are more than a huge help to lots and lots of us who are, or have been, afflicted by these illnesses. It is said that no-one is indispensable, but PMRpro and DorsetLady definitely are.
Well done and congratulations to the wonderful ladies who's knowledge and input have helped me through the last few years. It's such a comfort to be able to tap into a wealth of experience.

I’ve only flitted in and out of the site recently so had completely missed these awards. Just want to reiterate what everyone else has already said: PMRpro and Dorset Lady deserve every accolade they get.
There are so many on here who have helped me, and so many others, by sharing their knowledge and experience, but you two stand head and shoulders above everyone. Even when in NZ on your holiday, when you could reasonably be expected to disappear for a few weeks, Dorset Lady was answering and advising every day.
The two of you, and so many of the others here, make such a huge difference to people who leave the GP clutching a double sided A4 sheet describing PMR and scaring you with ‘signs to look for re GCA’. You arm us with advice and a deeper understanding, but more importantly, with reassurance. We hear a lot nowadays about ‘making a difference.’ You two really do. Thank you.
Delighted for both of you - I have found their advice immensely helpful particularly the slow tapering plan and as others have said always there to advise.
I will second all the comments. I have been on a lot of medication for PMR/GCA for the last two years and many down days but this site is my daily tonic and particularly these two ladies. I have been on their tapering plans now and doing much better so thank you and well done. Valerie

Better late than never!!! No surprise that you have both won this award but so pleased you have been recognised for the wonderful work that you both do. I comment on a few things on here and know the time that that takes so it never ceases to amaze me the amount of patience, research, good common sense, time and committment that you both exude on this site. You have been a great source of encouragement and helped when many of us when we have felt alone in our predicament and felt no one understood. So many congratulations!!!!
I have followed this forum for two years now ,I have never posted before because the amount of information you two have posted over the last several years has been there to put my mind at rest. Perhaps there should be a longservice award as well! Thank you both for your dedication, this forum is an amazing source of information and support
Huge thanks again to you both. I don't post that often, but read the site every day and have learned so much from your valuable advice over the past year. You truly deserve a medal for all the effort you put in, day in and day out.
So pleased you both have had reckonition of your hard work you thoroughly deserve it, reading all of your posts has helped me immensely, your knowledge of this disease is more than my Rheumy knows.
It does seem strange some people go into remission while others may get there then it flares up again, I’m down to 2mg of pred and 20 mg of Leflunomide now, feel marvellous at the moment long may it last !!!
I think PMR in particular is much more complex than many medical people realise - yes it does manifest itself in people in similar ways, but it’s life span and ‘add-ons ‘ can be also variable.
Some lucky souls do seem to ‘get away’ with the 2 year scenario (although that now is being recognised as being unusual rather than the norm) yet others like PMRpro have had it for best part of 12 years.
I only had GCA, and although if untreated it’s ramifications can be devastating, it appears to me that in essence it is a simpler illness than PMR.
I certainly think my treatment (once diagnosed) and recovering seemed a lot less stressful and more straightforward than those with PMR .
Commiserations, DL. Suspect arthritis even more of a pain than GCA - now down to pred level where one is reminded of this. Need to keep looking on the bright side - could always be worse! Do envy you your proximity to the sea - would be a tonic for me - one of these days . . .

Their knowledge and experience have been of more value to me than any medical professional I've seen to-date. It was International womens day last week and those two wonderful committed ladies PMRpro and Dorset Lady would be amongst my top women for their loyalty to a cause. My life with PMR changed for the better the day I joined this forum and found these two ladies ready to help us all every single day of their life. Although my PMR is coming to an end I hope these ladies will continue their great and very much needed advice to the very many PMR sufferers who will no doubt follow me on this PMR journey. Congratulations to both PMRpro and Dorset lady, Long may their good work continue.

As a community on this site. I just want to reiterate my thanks to Eileen and Mrs. DL. (Name unknown to me). They have been amazing to me and so many others here. When I started on this site in 2016, although not diagnosed for 3 years with PMR, which advanced to GCA. At first didn't want to accept this horrible illess . Made feel sick and worse to read the posts because I thought this isn't me with total ignorance. That can't be me with all the problems people are talking about. Then gradually you accept with the help of people that understand your illness and dilemma and that this is a long journey, to be taken at a pace with each individual person. Stress being the worse thing for this condition. I had a terrible breakdown of a marriage partly because of it but if I had a strong marriage we would still be together now. We all have our stress in different ways but always remember we are friends on this site. Thanks so much PMR PRO (Eileen ) and DLany for being there for us all. You deserve a medal and one of these days I would love to meet you face to face to give just that. Until then huge congratulations on your achievements on this site. 😊😊😊 and so many thanks. By the way Sheffield Jane deserves a mention too. Xx
So good to hear that PMRpro and Dorset lady have received some recognition for all the support and advice these ladies have come forward with again and again. I know I have been a grateful recipient of their advice. We are indeed very lucky to have them on here.

Agree Kate, their knowledge is priceless. I steer everyone I come in contact w/ that has PMR/GCA to come to this forum because of those 2 & others. I’ve learned priceless information since I joined for sure. I have nothing but LOVE ❤️ for those folks they have been a blessing.....
