Just to let you know life does become good again after GCA. Especially if you’re lucky enough to have family in great places around the globe. Taken Saturday lunchtime at Akaroa, not far from Christchurch, NZ.
I’m making up for my “lost” 6 years, hope you can as well sooner rather than later.

DL, lookin’ good! Thanks for the reminder that this is temporary and a ‘speed bump’. Continue to have a great time! (Your blouse is gorgeous! Love it!)
Thanks for inspiring us all. You look so happy! Yes, family and travel take us out of our insulated sphere of illness. I’m going to Charleston in February with my sister and a friend and Dallas to visit my son and his fiancé in March. Retirement (that I didn’t see coming) is a positive consequence of PMR.
I ran across an old article about your GCA journey the other day, it didn't mention Dorset Lady but I recognized the photo.. I was so excited (I know, its silly) and to see you now so radiant and in good health gives me a much needed morale boost. Thank you!
You look SO 'well' and very pleased for you - you deserve some fun and in CHCH too - lucky you !!! We are all aspiring to do as well as you have done - so thanks for all the inspiration and enjoy the rest of your holiday!
Actually yesterday was Akaroa, I just love that place, and yesterday it was as lovely as usual. My daughter only lives about an hour’s drive from CHCH so already been there a couple of times.
You look great and so relaxed. There is hope for us all. In a cold snowy Canada (Ottawa) at the moment visiting family. Could do with some of your NZ temps. ☀️
DL, in South Africa, we would say 'check that tan'. Envious, me sitting here with pale skin, on a frosty morning. What a marvellous feeling it must be to say you are well and feeling it. Bring some Oz sunshine home!
So pleased for you! Making up for lost time!! What an encouragement and inspiration to us all. Thanks for taking the time out to post. Your photos just get better and better- you look great!! Enjoy the rest of your holiday- very envious of sunshine - have got snow here. Don't like the snow!!
What a lovely and encouraging picture. Continue to enjoy the rest of your holiday. You give such good constructive advice and always in a gentle and repectful way. It will be encouraging for everyone suffering from the condition that you had to see such a good outcome.
You look amazing! So young, slim and happy. I love the blouse, hat and all the jewellery! I know Akaroa. I hope they have managed to rebuild the town after the earthquake. My friends' house was destroyed, but they rebuilt bigger and better!
Didn’t see any remaining damage in Akaroa, although of course that doesn’t mean there isn’t any. But it looked beautiful in all its glory on Saturday.
Unfortunately in Chch there’s still a lot of work do, but they’ve still managed to make the place look good with temporary buildings and murals on walls! Still debating whether to pull down what’s left of the Cathedral and build new or try and repair the existing.
Off there this morning, grandson’s got to have op on his knee!
Just to add to this post - I had PMA and then GCA for about 8 years came off steroids about a year ago and finally seem to have got my strength back. It takes a long while but there is light at the end of the tunnel!
What a lovely photo. Yes, I hope I also will find some quality in life and be able to do some of the things I did before. It is heartwarming to see people who have this disease enjoying life. I certainly am in better shape than some of the individuals on this blog. It is just sooo hard when one has been so independent and now they have to ask their hubby to squeeze the garlic press when cooking. We used to go biking every Spring in our Motorhome over to the States. I do not have the energy now and after 20 years we sold our Motorhome. However, so lucky to have a wonderful husband of 55 years who will help with anything. . I will look forward to when this silly disease will burn out. I just joined a exercise class and it is good!
