In what way do you mean? For me days over 15 degrees are awful in terms of overheating. But don't like it too cold either as it bring stuff muscles and damp cold horrid for joint areas.

I have been thinking that the overall tone of members describing their symptoms, seems to have taken a kind of down turn. It is noticeable in those that live in colder parts of the world. I certainly felt more energetic in the milder weather. I think there is something in what you are wondering. Arthritic pains that many of us have in addition to PMR/ GCA are also worse.

Moderate sun has got to be good because we need vit D so much.

I will be in Australia in January, it will be very hot and sunny ( ridiculously so). I can imagine feeling overcome by the heat. The hot flushing Pred related symptom has only just abated.

I think mild/ moderate is probably best and I think feeling worse in the winter is true for lots of reasons.

Having said all that , I love Christmas. 🎄

You'll be fine just remember to wear a hat, use sunscreen, drink lots of water and rest, don't walk if you can ride! I survived. Have a fantastic time. 😎

I know a few people who find that spending time in a much warmer or drier climate helps a lot. One has a villa in the south of Spain - no problems there, back to Blighty and the PMR protests. But it does depend - doesn't seem to make much difference for me.

I don't do well in very hot temperatures. I find the fatigue gets me! Also get more head sweats. On the other hand, cold starts the osteo off. I need somewhere in between. 22 degrees perfect for me.

Do you start sweating for no reason? I burn up after a warm shower, drying my hair, going into another place that is over 68 degrees. I thought it was caused from medication I take so I got off of the Cymbalta which helped a bit. I am doing great right now but it's cool. Thank you so much!!! I never out these 'head sweats' together with the PMR. I couldn't explain it to my GP or family. I can't let my hair grow out at all because I just brush it off my forehead and neck so it's always a mess.

Yep, I have a shower, dry off, dry my hair then within minutes it looks like its wringing wet again. Same when I "do" anything like hoover or unpack shopping! Its not a normal hot flash like a menopause one, just head and neck. Just adds to the chocolate box of delights that is PMR and pred. Still at least the "roids get me up in the morning, it would be impossible without them. xxx

It's common with both PMR/GCA and with pred - so some people get a double whammy.

I used to be on the phone and feel the sweat run down my spine and my armpits were soaking. That was "just" PMR - the pred helped a LOT. Still happens but it is more a "glow" now.
