I was diagnosed in September 16 with PMR started on 50mgs as they thought I had GCA as well but after a biopsy came back negative I started to reduce and now down to 12 mg reducing to 11 mg with DSNS method my headaches disappeared and vision returned to normal the pain in shoulders and arms disappeared but the fatigue was and still is a problem.
I’ve started to get my headaches back there not bad but it goes into my temples I’ve had them a few weeks I have no other symptoms my jaw and scalp are ok am I worrying over nothing

Hi Pat, I would get checked out, as you say yourself the medics cannot definitively say that you don't have GCA. As you know with GCA sometimes there are no second chances. Were you under a Rheumatologist? That's who I would want to see.
Have you tried increasing your Pred. Dose a little?
Thanks Sheffield Jane yes I am under the Rheumatologist in Leeds think I will give her a ring in the morning, I haven’t increased my pred no not sure how much to take thanks for the advice
Hi Pat. I was "lucky". My right temporal artery biopsy was positive. But, as the eye diagnostic consultant said, if it was negative, a biopsy of the left artery should be performed as well.
Yes - if you are having headaches, see your doctor again. You have the advantage is that you were started on cortico-steroids, which means your sight is not in danger.
