with my Dr.s o.k. I am splitting my dose of prednisone, 7.5 at night usually around 1;30-2;00, the rest in the morning....works good so far the only problem is eating something at night without waking completely up...how much do you long time pro's eat if you split?? I try milk or one of those little kids liquid yogurt drinks and a half of a snack bar or some type...and water too..that should be enough hey...no stomach problems so far...

I usually eat yogurt, sometimes with something a little more substantial if I had an early dinner.

Pharmacists have said that a glass of milk is adequate.

I have been drinking a glass of milk with my 2am prednisone. Seem to be working ok , no stomach problems as of yet

Yes milk works for me too. Less side effects than omeprazole too. 😀

I'll stick with milk or yogurt then..I don't want to start on another pill for stomach problems if I don't have too...thanks people!

I split my dose at 6AM and 6PM with 2/3 in morning. Working well for me

What's your dose?..not waking up in the middle of the night would be nice, although it's working well for less morning stiffness.

I take my night time dose at 11.30 p.m. just before going to bed and have something to eat with it. It lasts well into the day and saves waking up during the early hours. I'm tapering slowly down to 9 mgs at present.

On my last visit to the doctor, I managed to get gastro-resistant tablets. I take them, 7mg, about 10pm. So much better than taking them in the early hours. When I was doing that, I ended up taking the tablets anywhere between 01:30 and 04:30, I didn't set an alarm, just took them when I woke.

I'm going to check on those, my dr has never had a patient use them..would be a lot easier than random hours during the night...thanks...

You're in the USA aren't you? As far as I know they don't have enteric coated/gastro resistant pred. In fact - the UK is the only place I know of that has it!

yes, thats what i was afraid of because my Dr hasn't really heard of anyone using it here...too bad for us, probably a money fight with big Pharma or something is the reason we don't have it....not expensive enough...
