Thyroid headache
If you google headache with thyroxine you will find quite a few people saying they have headaches and several say it happens when their thyroxine dose is too high. As your adrenal glands are adjusting to the lower doses of pred the entire HPA (hypothalamus, pituitary, adrenal) axis is having to rebalance too and it may also have an effect on thyroid function.
Mind you - after 5 minutes I can't imagine you have absorbed much. But the half life is long - so I assume if you are on a bit too much it will eventually build up in your system.
Have you had your bloods checked recently?
If the headache comes 5 minutes after taking thyroxine it is unlikely to be anything to do with that as the thyroxine would not have been broken down or absorbed within that short space of time. Still it may be worth getting them to check your thyroid when you have your next bloods taken.
if I take levothyroxine within 30 to an hour of pred I get the tremblies of mind and body. I am experimenting with night time levothyroxine as per research suggest by pmrpro on another thread last week. that might help you determine which drug it is or whether the day ahead kicks in and causes headache.
Can't take mine at night take statin, in fact the 3 main drugs pred, lovothyroxine , statin, all time sensitive then when you add AA on Sunday joy. Almost forgot calcium and if pain meds needed for OA happy time had by all. !!!!???
ok. what is prob with statin and levothyroxine together? I obviously missed something again lol
Pharmacist was my lifeline they have the superior drug info I collect my drugs every 56 days he always speaks to me asking if everything ok and every year or when drug change into private space pulls everything up on screen and we have a chat. They are a very underused resource
this research suggests no significant interaction between simvastin and levo
