Temple ache and swimming

Hi all,

I went swimming yesterday. First time since I got diagnosed with GCA. Just chest stroke in the leisure lane. Unexpectedly I developed temple ache on my left side and had to slow down. It went away and came back. Later I had kind of an heachache and didn't feel really well. Did anyone have a similar experience? Like exercise makes the symptoms worse? Any feedback would be helpful. Thank you, Monika

I would mention this to your doctor. Is your blood pressure ok. You are right to be alert for signs of GCA. Any doubts get to the hospital.

Thank you. I'll see my doctor next week. Bloodpressure is always a little high. I didn't check.

When swimming chest stroke, did you hold your head out of the water at an unusual angle? Just a thought.

I wear googles and take my head underneath the water when doing the forward move, but I have to take my head up when inhaling. With my bison neck it was a bit of a pain to do so. The temple ache was very typical the way I had it and it subsided when I rested and the puls went down.

I can't say, sorry. It's so hot here that it felt just very refreshing, not too cold
