Hi, all, in last week I've begun getting attacks of severe leg pain mostly waking up on am, but also after short walks. I am on 60mg pred, 100 neurontin, baclofen, beta blocker, etc. Is it the pred? Any solutions?

Severe leg pain, restless legs

It could be the pred - but there are other possibilities and it's something to run past your doctor for a few checks.
I can't say it's the Pred because I am not a Dr -- however -- I too had bad leg pain -- and now my Pred has dropped -- I am not suffering in the same way. My Rheumy did say that the problem with steroids is that they can give you the same symptoms they are trying to cure.
I saw a doc for this & she gave me some good tips. She has restless legs herself. More walking (I'd been doing very little with so much going on with pain & health), take a xanax before bed & another right away if I wake up with pain/spasms in legs, take lowest dose of my lexapro (so many meds), and ask my primary care doc about changing my beta blocker. She said beta blocker ate connected with restless legs. Also, I was taking huge number of tums because prex giving a lot of reflux & I think that could have been messing with my electrolytes, maybe? Cut back on them, using some catafate instead & I increased my magnesium oxide to min 1k per day. I have not had an incident in last three days, so I'm pretty happy about that. I think the walking has helped the most. The beta blocker is helping with pred related side effects so I'd like to stick with it if I can.
