I was disappointed (as was he) that he'd not had a letter from the rheumatolgist. He will follow up on Monday.
He has prescribed a bone density scan, a further blood test and some VitD3 with Calcium (not an easy pick up at the pharmacy as all but one of the choices had sorbitol which I am sensitive to).
After explaining my journey so far through steroid tapering, and explaining that I am now back (for last 3 days) to 20mg...he has told me to stay at 20mg for one month and then review with the results of the 2 tests above. He was very on board with the slower tapering and will probably prescribe 19 or 18 mg for the next level.
I am much happier now and almost back where I was a few weeks ago. I feel less pressure to reduce too soon and will await results of tests.
Thanks for reading

Glad to hear you feel much happier now. Sounds like you have understanding doctor who's happy for you to go at your pace and not feel rushed into things. It makes life so much easier if you don't feel under pressure, PMRs bad enough without being hurried into reductions. My GP says - "listen to your body, and do what you feel is best for it".
