I'm 2 years into the GCA/PMR battle with prednisone now at 10mg. I'm wondering whether it would be good to support my body with botanicals? Does anyone have experience or advice?

Question regarding supplements
As long as you are still on pred be very careful with any supplements other than the calcium/vit D and magnesium.
Botanicals in particular can be very dangerous mixed with prescription medications can cause problems. Above all, the substances sold as being good for the immune system should be avoided as it is an immune system disorder that causes PMR and you have no idea how they will affect it. Several say they are contraindicated if you are taking pred or other immunosuppressants.
Even OTC and "herbal" remedies can be very risky with or without other meds on the scene - being available without prescription does not mean they have no side effects. In addition, whilst OTC medications like aspirin, paracetamol and ibuprofen have to fulfil regulatory requirements during manufacture and testing, anything herbal is subject to no such monitoring. Only ever buy from a reputable dealer - but ALWAYS check with a pharmacist whether it is safe to use with anything else you are taking.
I recovered from PMR in 20 months without taking pred, on a strict anti-inflammatory diet plus supplements. But ... I wouldn't buy anything over the counter. You don't know how things will react with each other or with prescription medication. I got everything from a herbalist and double-checked with my GP
