I had a second flare of eyesight problem, grey curtain over my other eye .Had last flare in left eye latest in right eye.Lasted 30 secs to a minute on 2 occasions.I had to stay in hospital to get iv infusion of metythl prednisone I had 2 infusions and have to go to day unit to start Rituximab.Anyone been on that.My consultant upped pred tablet form to 30mgs ,he says not enough as flare in right eye happened on this dose to which he increased me too after flare in right eye.He gave me a temporal ultra sound on side I had negative biopsy on and found area of abnormal blood flow in vessel ,could be inflammation. Ive every faith in my consultant he is a caring type of man and he was genuinely disappointed to see me back with problems. Its a balancing act with no set outcome I think ,just trying different meds to control disease which wont go away in a hurry.

Hi Mickt,

Sorry to hear that you have flared again. I think that there will be more people on the vasculitis forum who have had Rituximab than on here. I know you have borderline APS, have they treated that with warfarin and do your Dr's think that has anything to do with your ongoing eye problems?

Hope everything settles down soon.

Best wishes

Hi Keyes,Ive seen haematologist who said to double my dose of clopiderol as opposed to warfarin ,Im on daily aspirin 75mg and 150mg clopiderol daily. My rheumatologist reffered me to haematologist. They must have discussed aps as he wouldn't have reffered me .

Hi Mick,

I hope the increased clopidrogel helps. It's really scary having these eye problems, it is great that your medical team take this seriously and act when there are problems.

I hope you manage to achieve remission soon.

Sorry to hear you had problems again, Mick. I also think you will find other Rituximab patients on the vasculitis forum and it is used a lot for RA.

I'm thankful that you have a great team behind you, I do hope it all settles down soon.

Thanx for replies ,I could not tolerate ritux ,so on methotrexate for 3 weeks had another episode with right eye ,curtain mosaic 3 times over 2 days ,Still on 25mg pred and getting my second batch of 6 cyclophosphamide .I have been started on warfarin also.My diabetic consultant wants me to start metaformin alongside insulin im type 1,to try and get my high use of insulin to a lower level ,pred makes sugars very high and its a bugger trying to manage it.Ill need a bigger dosette box .
