It seems to be working well! But Ive just had a chest Infection and antibiotics. (I have very dodgy lungs)!

Should I wait another week before reducing, even though I'm feeling quite well.

Look after yourselves folks.

Hello annihami

Yes, it is always advisable to postpone any planned dose reduction whilst suffering from any infection/virus of any sort, or indeed any trauma to the body from surgery, even any emotional stress. Best to wait until you feel completely recovered and your immune system is better able to accept the reduction. Hope you feel better soon.

Celtic is right about not reducing when you are ill - on the other hand, my reduction is so slow that if you feel at all wobbly you can stop straight away. But what is a week in the great scheme of things!

Thanks for your replies. Good advice. I will hold off the reduction. Since my post am thinking of going to Woking for a couple of days to see my family. Haven't been since before Christmas. But they understand I'll decide probably on the day I'm due to go. So no pressure

I must reiterate how well this slow but sure plan is working in my case. Even having had a really bad infection its proving successful. (Now touchng wood)!

On a light note! I hate yoghurt. But having read the forum am going to see if I can learn to love it! Best wishes. Ann

If you can't "do" ordinary yoghurt try the Greek sort - it is totally different (that was a completely unintentional pun by the way)! It is much more like cream and doesn't have the sour flavour many yogs do.

Hi PMRpro Volunteer. Sounds good. Its the sour taste I hate! Will give it a go.May help with weight to perhaps. (The reason I was put off was originally - when my daughter was small, she used to mix it up in her "pelican bib". Don't know if you know what they are! (Plastic bib with a sort of drip tray)!! Ug!

She's 34 now!

Have a Happy Easter.

Of course I know what a pelican bib is! Lifesavers - or do I mean floor savers? My two are 34 and 32 and were equally repulsive ;-) . OTOH, I didn't let them get a hold of their mini-yogs unless they were going to be civilised with them - I know, I'm a cruel mother! Now I think about it, I'm not sure they had them in Germany where the girls grew up but the annual UK visit took care of that sort of lack. Especially proper T-bags...

The Pred reduction plan is detailed on several of these threads, to save repeating it yet again have a look and you will find it. You can also check out anti-inflammatory foods on Google (Mediterranean diet is a good one to have a look at). Pineapple, turmeric and I think cucumber spring to my mind but it is a subject I'm less than knowledgeable on as I can't eat most of them.

The yoghourt is accepted by many of us as an aid to digestion. Pred can be very irritating to the stomach and live yoghourts do help with this. A good many of us have collected other meds along the way which also irritate the stomach lining so this gives us all-round help.
