I have been taking Pregabalin for Pudendal Nueralgia and Peripheral Nerve Disease. I take 75mg twice daily and have been doing so for about 4 months. I was advised to do 150mg twice daily but found the 75mg x 2 strength effective up until a couple of weeks ago. I am in two minds about going up in dose and would like to hear from anyone who been on PG, especially if its been long term and effective.
I've heard lots from people who tried it and came off of it but not so much from people who have had success long term and what the side effects might be. I'm already a bit dizzy and a bit dopey at times and wondering if that increases with dose too.
Any options would be much appreciated x x

Hi.Jodie,I also have been on Pregabalin 75mg twice a day but for a year now and have felt lately it isn't doing much. I never wanted to go on it in the first place. I don't get dizzy on it though.
They reckon it is too low a dose to be on but I too am hesitant to increase the dosage. I do think it can affect your mood.
It has been suggested I add in Duloxetine but I am also hesitant to start another drug, so I too would be interested in other people's thoughts on how they find Pregabalin and possibly Duloxetine.
I was on pregabalin for a while.I took 100mg twice a day.It never helped me and made me gain weight. The DR.took me off it and put me on Duloxetine which helped really well with my depression and another problem I had( Vulvodynia) but it quit working after about a year and a half.It is very hard to get off Duloxetine and it took me over a year to get off it.I hope it works well for you and you don't have to discontinue it (Good Luck)
I am on gabapentin which is almost the same and I take 300mg 3 times a day. I started with lower dose for a while and increased to that dose for 3 years now. The first month I feel daisy but that side effects stopped after a while. I tried to decrease the dose but the pain get worse so I increased to that dose 300mg 3 x day. I didn’t want to increase more than that. I do have pudendal neuralgia for 4 years now. I still have pain .
I'm currently on 600mg Pregablin daily alongside 180mg Nefopam. I feel ok still have slight pain in back and pelvis and have flareups.
I get tired with no energy and sometimes can't think straight but apart from that I'm still working and driving and it is helpful in managing the excruciating pain I was in. Pain caused by a herniated and degenerative L5 S1 disc.
I too am still looking into what's best for managing the chronic pain I am in and open to any suggestions.
Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I have upped the dose a touch but I think I'll have to double up to feel any real relief. Have a look into platelet rich plasma injections. in the UK I'm looking at around £1300 to get treated and that's just for 1 injection.
Hi there. I am on Pregabalin 75 mg - couldn't tolerate 75*2 which the doctor had suggested. Had to add Dulexotine [gradully increased to 60] once a day. I was on Nortryptiline[10]+Pregabalin[100] Made me very sleepy and doctor felt addiction potential was high so took me off it. I also have endometriosis so this complicates things a lot. With Dulexotine + Pregabalin the pain is manageable - not absent but manageable. I use heat pads and sits baths when I need them. All the best with managing what is really an impossible thing to tackle!
