Hi, I’m a 49 year old woman and have been suffering with PN.

I’ve read some of the stories on the Network, can anyone give me the name of specialist women’s health physio who was knowledgeable about PN?

I’m in Cheltenham so Bristol or Birmingham or Wales even?

If you lived in Sydney, Australia I could give you the name of an excellent physio.Have you tried looking up one on the internet near your area? Can your GP help as that is how I got onto mine,? She has been wonderful and I wouldn't be where I am today without her. If you can find the right pelvic floor physio I am sure they could help.

I have had a few pudendal nerve blocks, botox into a couple of internal muscles as well as a ganglion impar block. They all help to some degree in their own way.

Good luck and I do hope you can find the right physio. Some osteopaths who specialise in that area can also help.

Take care

Hy Robynne, The pelvic floor physio I go to is Tara O'Reilly from PhysioDownunder in Concord, Sydney NSW. I don't know whether that is of any help to you?

Take care

Sorry, I can’t help as the lady I used was based in Stansted. Have you tried the Emsella chair pelvic floor strengthener? Also quite helpful though expensive.

I think PN stands for pudendal neuralgia which is a condition usually caused by the muscles in the pelvic floor being too tight. Strengthening her pelvic floor would most likely make her symptoms worse not better.

I didn’t know that, thank you. Therefore, is it safe to assume that Physiotherapy can help loosen and relax those muscles?

The Emsella chair would do more harm than good as its purpose is to tighten/ strengthen the pelvic floor muscles.

Not what you're looking for?
