What is wrong with me????

I am totally fed up. I have a lot of abdominal pain. Different kinds. A constant burning in the lower abdomen which lessens and worsens but is always there. A tugging sensation near the right ovary. Sometimes pubic bone pain and often tail bone pain.

When I contact the doctors (UK) they just check my blood work and then sign me off. Often adding that abdominal discomfort should be expected with my history.

My history is confusing to be fair. Some IBS and a large polyp removed a year and a half a go.

However, my gut feeling is that this is a gynae issue. I have 3 fibroids (small at last scan), an adhesion (from cesarean), connecting bladder to uterus. I have had a couple of cysts on the right ovary, but both resolved naturally.

I have discomfort every day. But flare ups affect bowel also. I am 48 and have felt like this for 7 years however I feel that the pain has I creased since I started HRT 6 months ago. I suffer terribly from chronic fatigue and nausea also when I have a flare up.

Can anyone relate to this?

I am totally fed up. Its affecting my life, and i don't know for how longer i can continue to work full time.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Julie x

Have you been checked for a hernia?

I'm not sure. Which kind. I had a colonoscopy within the last year. Can s hernia cause chronic fatigue and nausea as well as pain?

Thanks

Hi, sorry to read about your pain. I can relate with over 7 years in increasing pain in similar areas with no diagnosis. Please demand an MRI to check pelvic, kidneys and bowel area.

Turned out for me that I had serious kidney scarcoma that was not looked into by lazy doctors .. I finally demanded MRI and PET scan came after they saw the sarcoma. Ended badly having to have my kidney removed.. which could have been saved had doctors taken care in earlier days of my complaints of pain. NOT saying this is your case, but just stringlynsdviding that you start demanding answers and seeking second, third, fourth or more opinions until you get the care you deserve. Doctors need to see what's happening in your body and an MRI / PET scan is the only place to start. CT scans don't show much.

God bless you. I'm sure you'll be ok, just keep standing your ground and demanding answers. Peace 🌺

Sorry you’ve had so much pain and no help.

Has anyone looked into endometriosis? It’s usually diagnosed through a laparoscopy, though sometimes still not found if it’s hidden. I was thinking that the symptoms sound similar to mine sometimes (on my 8/9 op for endometriosis) Sometimes they can find it on an MRI. But adhesions, ovarian cysts, are common with Endo (maybe with a lot of other abdominal issues too, I don’t know, not a Dr!?) Endometriosis can also continue into menopause and is aggravated by oestrogen, it weirdly also creates its own oestrogen. Anyway, it was just a thought, as it sounds strange that it got worse with HRT. When you had periods did it get worse around then and at ovulation time?

Good luck and don’t put up with Drs telling you that you should expect this because of previous issues, I think that’s a cop out for “ I don’t know what’s wrong with you and can’t be bothered to refer you to someone who could find out” xx

Thanks for your reply. I had a laparoscopy about 3 or 4 years ago and they found the adhesion, but I was basically just told to get on with it. Not sure why i get flare ups that last months and then can be relatively 'better' for months. Presently the fatigue and nausea is so bad i think I'm going to have to take a few weeks off work.

I’m so sorry to hear about the pain. I was off work for seven months last year with debilitating pelvic pain and had many tests, scans etc and nobody knew what was wrong. I’m better now though, and it’s down to the work of Dr John Sarno (he’s written several books) and the Curable app. I’d urge you to look at the app and listen to the recovery stories there. It could well be the answer as it certainly got me my life back!

Was it a book by dr sarno?

Yes, I read The Mindbody Prescription

Thanks. I just looked at that app. I'm not happy with the terms and conditions regarding sharing my personal details, with other parties.

Thanks anyway.

Yes, all of that. I had Inguinal hernia... Mine never showed up on any scans and I had to have exploratory surgery to find it & fix it. If you do have a hernia, do NOT get it repaired with mesh as this causes all kinds of problems further down the line. Good luck x

Did you have nausea? Was the pain tugging with movement? I have that but also heartburn type pain- except really low in the abdomen. Terrible fatigue. Seems to come in waves that lasts for a couple of months then improves again for a while. 7yrs and counting!

Check the HRT strength levels, maybe bring down your dosage
