Does anything help ease this pain? I have this constant urge to use the bathroom and I’ve been in pain nonstop. My doctor suggested Miralax and put an order in for an ultrasound sometime in the next week. Is there anything to do in the meantime?

I use lactulose as a stool softener but sometimes find I have to have a shower after I have been to the toilet and ease any remaining waste out! This is only if I get contsipated though

Thank you. My dr was very brief with me and was more concerned about sending me to a obgyn for further care. I started adding more fiber to my diet and I drink a lot of water already (almost 1/2 gallon a day). I’m going to start the Miralax and see if it helps but I still feel this heavy feeling in my abdomen and each time I go to the bathroom I go #2 a little bit and it’s painful. I did not have any of these issues until last Saturday night after work (I do a lot of heavy lifting at work 50# to 200# regularly). I woke up Sunday constipated and then the bulge my dr said was rectocele appeared. My dr said I’ve probably had this problem for awhile now and the heavy lifting caused it to get worse. I’m just worried because now I’m having trouble urinating too. I have to sit in certain positions for my stream to continue and then I still have an urge. My urinalysis came back negative for an infection but I just got this injury Saturday and my urine was passing fine until Monday. Dr was on Wednesday so I know it takes a little while for bacteria to develop. I’m just worried and can’t afford to lose my job and this is causing me to not be able to work at the moment (I’m a workaholic, seriously). I just was hoping for some advice or what usually happens with this issue. Thank you and I’m sorry for all the detail and information, I don’t have anyone to talk to about this. I hope you are feeling well and you are in my prayers 💕

The symptoms you describe are the same as I had before rectocele surgery. First the bowel problems, then urine flow problems and pain. I had really bad pain front and back with Dr saying rectocele should not cause such pain. However other tests proved negative and as soon as I got up after surgery the pain was gone. There is a recovery time after surgery but now I am fine. I still take one movicol a day to help ease bowel movements. If rectocele is minor exercises are sometimes recommended, but once it is established surgery is the route to go.

Hope you get relief soon

Thank you for your response and I’m glad you got the help you needed and are here for others. It’s a scary topic that doesn’t seem to get enough attention or education. I’ve been looking into exercises once I’m able. I know they say Kegels but a few other websites say to add lower abdomen (low impact), also core like yoga, and walking or cycling. I wish you the best, and will have you in my prayers ❤️

You poor thing! I had the same issue with urinating and found I had to stand up and bend over to completely empty my blader! I think anything that puts pressure on the pelvic floor can be problematic..... coughing straining and lifting! I now have a ring pessary fitted so will see how that goes ........ my consultant was against surgery unless absolutely necessary

Take Care

I really hope it helps you feel some sort of relief!!! It’s heartbreaking knowing so many women suffer with these health issues in private and they cause so much pain and discomfort. I wish you the best and I will continue to pray for you!!! 💕

Paragon Forte 500mgs and/or Xanax. It helps relax the pelvic muscles. An ultra sound is worthless. You need a spevial MRI for Pudendal neralgia. Hospital for Special surgery in NYC does them. Or if your doctor calls Dr Mike hibners office in Phoenix he will tell your doctor how to write a script for the MRI so the technician knows how to do it.
