Discharge with pelvic pain?

Hi all,

I’m just wondering if anyone else has increased discharge with pelvic pain?

I’ve had every test done and all swabs negative. I’ve been told it looks normal but I know it’s increased massively since I’ve started having pelvic pain.

I know think my pain is muscular/ nerve related. Could this lead to an increase in discharge as everything is over stimulated down there?

Yes I think it could happen...I feel like I have more since my pelvic muscles are in spasm...ask your pelvic physical therapist...hopefully you have one

Yeah I had the same thing. After 4 months of being bounced around to different doctors, they finally diagnosed me with Vulvodynia and Pelvic floor dysfunction. I'm now in physical therapy and am taking a topical cream with a nerve blocker and anti depressants in it. I highly recommend getting to a vaginitis specialist so that they can properly diagnose you.

Hi thank you so much for your reply. Glad this is the case as I was convinced I had some kind of bacterial infection that hadn’t been discovered yet!

Where abouts are you based? I’m struggling to find anyone in my area who specialises in pelvic floor dysfunction or anything to that effect. Have you found the nerve blocker and PT are helping your symptoms yet??

I'm in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I would say I'm starting to feel slightly better, but I was told this process could take a few months to a few years to feel relief or the pain could come and go....so it's mostly been experimenting with what causes the pain to increase and decrease. There are days where I feel very little pain and there are days where the pain comes back in full effect....but I'm definitely in less pain than I was before the PT and nerve blocker. If I forget to use the nerve blocker, the pain comes roaring back.

ah okay, well I've been referred to a pelvic floor physio and a pelvic pain specialist here in the UK. However I'm not sure if it will quite the same level of care and expertise and you receive in the US so I'm not very hopeful to be honest.

Also, is your pain external or internal (or both!)?? As mine is purely internal and quite high up and I haven't heard anyone with similar symptoms to mine. I can have sex but the pain comes after sex and also gets worse after a bowel movement and on my period. Does this sound like anything you've heard of before?

Usually a discharge is from a pelvic infection or a bacterial infection.

Hi Adele, Yes I am aware of this but every test has come back negative hence why I'm asking if anyone has similar issues with pelvic pain.
