They are injections of saline solution, lidocaine, and a drop of cortisone. The injections are ultrasound guided. Best if you google it. My dr makes the analogy of two pieces of bread tight together and mayo is the injection. It helps separate the bread where the problem is. It’s not a quick fix. Takes a number of visits depending on your particular issue. All I can say is this past week I’ve had 3 decent days in a row, for me that’s amazing. Nights are still difficult.

I heard of it and was going to inquire in one clinic in the city I found, they go this and prolotherapy. So you had scar tissue around the nerve?

Unfortunately I have been going through this for 14 years. Been through a lot. With me because of length of time it’s very tense muscle against the nerves. They say I’m this huge mountain they have to chip away from and we start at the very top. I haven’t seen the light at the end of the tunnel and now I do. I sure hope for me it continues. Let me know if you find someone. A lot of Drs don’t know much about it. Where do you live?

Where are they injecting? I am in Sydney Australia and here they do it too, but I am very dubious about any interventions, so few ppl get better..

That’s where the ultrasound comes in. When he sees an area where nerves are pressed against muscle he injects. Unfortunately with me he doesn’t see that and goes more by where the pain is.

Same here Lexi,I've had the same thing for 14yrs too. My Physiotherapist told me exactly the same, because of the length of time it's no quick fix, same words in fact, chip away a little at a time. I'll have a word with her,see what she says.

Have you ever been given a diagnosis, apart from Pelvic Pain.

Because I was told by my pain specialist, there's no test for seeing the nerves,so just from how we perceive our pain, they can assume it's nerves in some way.

So when I read on here people who say pacific Pelvic pain, like Prudendal neuralgia etc,I wonder how they know?

Have you spelled this right, only I can't get it up at all???

It’s called hypodysection for pelvic pain. This ultrasound shows the nerves. Much stronger than an MRI.

I meant hydodissection

No I haven’t been given a diagnosis, except false ones over the years, of anything but Pelvic Pain.

"hypodysection" - have you spelled this correctly?

Hydrodisection

It sounds expensive. How much is one injection? How many will you need?

If it works long term....it may be worth it. Good luck.

I think what you are referring to is hydrodissection. Here is a website I came across where it is explained: pelvicrehabilitation.com/pe...

My PT mentioned this to me awhile back. I have not pursued yet. Initially I believe she or another patient came across an orthopedic doctor who does this in Seattle. The clinics in the video above are in NY and NJ.

I myself have been diagnosed with pudendal neuralgia. I googled “hydrodissection pudendal nerve” and came across the link above and do much more information. I am about to fly back to see Dr. Hibner in Phoenix, AZ for ultrasound-guided pudendal nerve blocks targeting the perineal branch of the pudendal nerve and Botox injections to multiple hypertoned pelvic floor muscles. He does not feel I have a nerve injury but rather chronic hypertoned pelvic floor muscles (18-20 years) compressing the nerve. I will inquire with him about whether he does hydrodissection and if he thinks it may be a reasonable next step if needed.

Best of luck!!! Please keep us posted on your progress.

Yes that’s it. I saw that video too. They are very expensive. Where I go it’s covered by my insurance.

I live in New York, Long Island actually. I go to Connecticut for the injections.
