Hi all,
I have had Pelvic Floor Dysfunction for several years now. It has taken me a long time to figure our what my condition was / get on my road to recovery. I have been having similar issues with a burning and nerve sensitivity pain in my penis (as well as some other symptoms) for over a year now, and have done so many different things and have tried so many perscriptions, etc, but nothing had worked. I have to wrap my penis in gauze every day, in order to be able to even walk.
I did a lot of research, and came across this book—Pelvic Pain Explained: What You Need to Know by Stephanie A. Prendergast and Elizabeth H. Akincilar. I would strongly advise reading it. It is a very comprehensive book that educates and describes every aspect of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction for men and women.
It includes stories from different people with the condition, which helps exemplify the complexity of the condition. It also outlines the steps you can take to get to recovery and includes a ton of resources. Just reading this will likely put you a little more at ease by calming you through understanding the condition. I wish I had found this book before going to dozens of specialists and wasting thousands of dollars trying to figure out what / how to fix my pelvic floor dysfunction.
I read through and discovered that this specific symptom seems to be linked to “loose connective tissue” restriction, putting pressure on my nerves (in my case, in my legs).
The book showed me how to find a proper physical therapist tp help me. Just after several sessions with her (as well as muscle rolling, cupping on my own), I am starting to see some noticeable improvement. I am able to walk some days without wrapping my penis is gauze, which is pretty amazing for me. I am confident that after several more weeks, I will be able to significantly improve with this symptom (as well as my other ones).
Takeaway from my long post— read Pelvic Pain Explained, and find a good physical therapist to help you get started on your recovery.
Good luck everyone, and I’m happy to answer any questions you may have!
