I am wondering what has caused my rectum to come out. It isn't noticeable by looking at it, but I can feel that it is more raised than when it used to be. It is causing me a lot of anxiety, and it is also very tight. It never used to be this tight.

Levator ani syndrome and rectal prolapse
What are you doing about it? Have you seen your doctor? Are you on any medication for your Endo?
Also, I would suggest becoming extremely strict with your diet (cut out gluten as a start) and try to keep a diary of what you eat to determine what helps and what doesn't. We're all different, and one man's medicine may be another's poison.
This is a lifelong journey I'm realising. But we have to take it one day at a time, and do the best we can do each day.
Oh Im so sorry as I had the very same thing but you must see a consultant
and get the problem dealt with. I didnt act at first and ended up with
complete rectal prolapse and had to have a protectomy. Get help there
is no other way, do not strain when using the loo. I have found Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar essential in keeping my bowel working efficiently.
Good luck.
Thank you for the information, I hope you are well. So it sounds like the prolapse is caused mainly by straining on the toilette, correct? Are there ANY other factors that can contribute to the prolapse? I ask because I never strain when I go to toilett. I time it perfectly so that as soon as I squat down it comes right out. I squat when I go because it is easier.
Right now it seems like more of a bulge, like my anus is raised and my colorectal surgeon said there is a little bit of an internal prolapse, but I am wondering if anus seems bulged out because of the levator spasm. I never have to strain of the toilett and I'm wondering how long it will take for this bulge to go away. I have an anxiety disorder so these bulge has a significant effect on my price mind, so I am looking for good news if anyone would like to share because I need reassurment.
