My Mother, part 2, 2000

My mother was one of 15 centenarians invited in year 2000 to St Paul’s for Queen Mother’s 100 birthday service. We had to be seated by 10.30, an hour before service started! We travelled 1st class by train. Paperwork we had beforehand showed everything timed to minutes. Afterwards we were invited to lunch by the Lord Major of London at the Mansion House. It was a wonderful day, happy memories. Jean

Thanks. Yes doesn’t seem that long ago! Also have cards from Queen for her birthdays, 100, and then yearly after 105 to 111. Happy memories, Jean x
