I have PBC and started ursodiol in August 2022. It’s in the early stages and my liver enzymes are now normal. But my skin is extremely dry, what do I do? I’m going to ask the specialist but I was wondering if anyone else has this issue. I’ve tried many different lotions and take vitamins but still very dry.

Dry skin
since my diagnosis December of 2020, after each shower I use either NOW coconut or almond oil, toes to chin to combat dry skin. Once or twice a week, especially in winter I use eucerin , instead of the oil, the thick one in the big tube. I no longer take hot showers, more Luke warm, and finish off a shower with cooler water. I have had some itch, but pretty mild and infrequent compared to others, if I do I use SARNA cream. Drink a lot of water. I buy everything I mentioned on Amazon. After my shower I wear a terry robe while I wait for the cream/ oil to be absorbed.
all above is great advice. Apply lotion or oil or cream while skin is still moist. Drink a lot of fluid. Make sure to do your feet. It's great that your numbers are normal.
it’s not the PBC that’s causing the dry skin. Have you asked your doctor about Sjögrens?
Sjögren’s syndrome is anothe Auto immune disease. It’s a glandular condition that causes your body to be very dry skin, mouth, eyes. But your doctor can explain and check you out for it.
When you were diagnosed (dx) with PBC that was probably your first Auto immune attack. There are over 100 auto immune health issues. What’s really going on, always remember that your body as a whole is being attacked by your Immune System.
Sjögrens goes along with PBC for a majority of us as PBC patients.
Go have a chat with your doctor about your health issues as a whole body attack.

I've been on Ursodiol for many years, not sure dry skin is a result of the medication but I just use a good lotion every day.
I use Alba botanical. When I was diagnosed in 2009 they told me eliminate as much toxic stuff as you can, get as much natural products as possible—soap, shampoo, etc. Love Alba products as well as Pura products. Also agree, cool showers. When I am itching or skin is hot cool water helps. Hot water just makes things worse. Agree also keep hydrated, alkaline water works well for me.
Hydrate and perhaps look into using something different to bath. Also a shower filter might help.
I’m really struggling with my skin at the moment…dry but also have this really annoying itch I can’t get rid of!
For dryness…cetraben has been great. But also lashings of coconut oil! I’ve been trying to avoid soap too so using really basic shower gels, like aveeno! I don’t think there’s a straight up answer I’m afraid but these have helped me!
