I've never had the itch with pbc but this last 2 weeks got itches in all different places all time mostly in bed is it the itch in ears eyes
I think for most of us, if we've gotten away without itching all day, it will occur late at night before bed. I have the itching ears problem. It's just the external part though, and I use a steriod type oil about once a week in them. My eyes only get too dry sometimes. There are treatments you're dr. can prescribe for the itching. One simple one I use is a lotion called Sarna, which has a menthol and camphor in it.

My itch seems to have only ever been confined to night time. I know in 2010 when I started with the itch prior to being diagnosed with PBC (reason I ended up seeing a GP) I would find that my feet itched during the day with working full-time and being on my feet and standing all day.
Since I started urso Dec 2010 the itching has gradually lessened somewhat but I still continue with nights where I do itch. I have found it has changed a bit, not has severe as it used to be. I normally dread the evening as during the day I am perfectly normal and know at some point in the evening I am going to start the beginnings of it. Seems that when one lies down to relax at the end of the day it starts up then. I know when I put my feet up at night around 9p.m. when we put tv on, no sooner have to got comfortable that the pressure points start to feel the twinges of the itching. I think it is due to the blow flow when we lie down, the pressure we place on certain bodily areas at the time. I shift and then it starts up where that pressure is and it normally goes on and on until I drop off to sleep. If I am unfortunate to wake during the night within 10mins it restarts. m It is quite bizarre really how it works and I wish I had the answer for us all to vanish it from our lives but at the moment I am as puzzled as to how to rid myself as best I can.
One tip I find that does seem to help. If I wake at morning and I'm feeling energetic I will rise with my husband at 6a.m. That way if I am awake all through the day from this time until around 11p.m. I can then go to sleep as I do feel tired by then. I do relax at times during the day but I don't shut my eyes and nod off as I think that goes against it all at night. Know it is difficult for us with PBC at times as feeling fatigued and then having the itch, do not go hand in hand at all.
