Is loss of taste or funny taste in mouth linked to pbc ?

Not sure if it linked to PBC as such, but I had it once, might even have been before my diagnosis. I lost the ability to taste sweet things, consequently every thing I ate tasted bitter. It lasted about 3 weeks and Ive never had it again. Just put it down to one of the many weird things that happens to me.................

hello, it might be, also have a bitter taste, no matter how much mouth was I used, still after a while metalic taste, also no apetite, but not loosing wt, any tips to feel hungry again??

I get it as well and the mettalic taste and put it down to the drugs, I also don't want to eat and I have to force myself to shut my husband up, but then again I am loosing weight......rapidly, look great with my clothes on but like a wrinkled prune if I take them off :o)

Strange isnt it, also im not on any drugs as not been diagnosed yet ! My weight is a problem like yours i am skin and bone. I love my food though so eat plenty but it makes no difference at all. Some people are envious as I am so thin but actually its not great i would sooner be a healthy size ten but am 4 to 6 !

wisegeek.com/what-causes-a-... I had a bitter taste quite bad once and I told the Dr. it tastes bitter, like bile. She said " It is bile". I have the acid reflux.

As of now I'm using Nexium and Carafate, for I get heartburn or nausea from most things I eat. I can get away with milk, yogurt and ice cream though. I weigh too much at 160 lbs, 5ft 5 inches. I was 5 ft 6 or more when I was young! I also have osteoporosis also.

I've never really tasted anything like it should since being diagnosed with PBC, the results are that It puts me off eating some days.

I have always blamed the osteo drugs for the metallic taste especially the calcium and vit D I came off them for a while and felt a whole lot better, I started to put weight back on and now I have been put back on fosamax I don't want to eat as it tastes horrible and i have lost 8 lbs. in 5 weeks.
