Thanks donna. I will let you know how i get on. Must admit though, i'm wetting myself. Not happy with having a procedure done while i'm awake. i'ts not that i'm a wimp, its just that i really don't know what to expect.

I have had an enlarged spleen for about a year now, my doctor keeps an eye on it, but he tells me that it is a good thing to see it enlarged (not dangerously enlarged), because that means it is working hard and picking up the slack. My specialist is doing research for PBC and really knows about PBC, so I don't worry about what he calls the smaller things. I am very lucky to have him as one of my doctors, because I would otherwise worry about everything. I have been getting worse as the years go on, it has been almost 8 years. My alkaline phosphate levels are way above the 900 mark. Unfortunately, it will not be the liver itself that gives us grief, but all the little things that come with it. I have gotten used to must of them, but for me, the itching is what drives me nuts! I wish you all the best of luck in your quest to get answers and learn to deal with not just the physical but the mental aspect tha comes with PBC.
