Have any of you ever taken slow release Niacin over a period of time?

It was symptoms that I had from taking slow release Niacin that led to my PBC dx. I was taking Niacin because I thought it would lower my elevated cholestoral (wrong!) l and it started making me really sick. Felt like I was being poisoned along with Intense barfing. The doctor ordered blood work to figure this sickness out and found I had PBC.

It took a while to make the Niacin connection to the sickness because I wasn't sick everyday so blamed it on other things like the salmon I ate at the restaurant the night before.

Also, I must confess I was taking more Niacin than the recommended dosage. My thought was if a little is good than a little more would be better. Don't make this mistake folks!
