Hello, I do not have Lichen Planus but the American Academy of Dermatology suggests that you can treat the rash with an Oatmeal Bath which can be purchased at a pharmacy. This will be soothing. Best of luck to you and I wish you good health in the future.

Hi lovemyliver

I was diagnosed with PBC last June the consultant at the time said prob have had PBC for yrs no symptomatic now I have symptoms. When I had my first follow up appointment a mentioned this and he just brushed of the question then I told him I had lichen planus 7yrs ago and he just replied vaguely no it wouldn't be connected strange !

Anyway the reason I'm replying to this is I had it really bad all over my body so bad I had 6 months of work as I couldn't even dress as it was so sore itchy and weeping ! I had various creams and potions even something called sunlight therapy this did reduce it for a while but then it flared up again.

I was so ill my daughter came home from university to visit me.

Then about the second day she was home she announced she was taking me to a Chinese herbalist . Well I went they gave me a load of herbs I had boil up and strain and then drink the water and within a week it had reduced and by the end of 2 months completely gone no one could believe it ! And it has never come back and all they did was examine and look at my tounge !!so I know how you are feeling and u have never had it again.

So sending you a hug hope you can get it under control xxxx

The dermatologist I see has been very thorough in helping me to control and live with lichen planus....my tongue and genitals are constantly irritable and drives me crazy at times...at the worst he gives me a dose of steroids...I have tried chinese medicine and been to see a alternative therapist without avail......Both the PBC and Lichen Planus are in control and I see my specialists on a regular basis....Thanks for your reply..It is my beleive that all autoimmune conditions are connected..Take Carex
