None of us know what any one day will bring, do we? Last Saturday I was looking forward to attending an annual Trivia Night for Donate Life. Not feeling the best but wanted to attend to support a cause, of course, dear to my heart.

On Tuesday, I was worse. Tested + for Influenza A. This also happened to be my 75th birthday. In the past celebrating my birthday has been like a national holiday in my house. Not so much this year....

Although I'm still battling the flu, my perspective has surely changed. I still did get to celebrate my 75th birthday just by being thankful I was alive. I have the privilege to be 75!

I can vividly remember like it was yesterday my hepatologist, not long after my transplant, telling me that his wish was that I grow old.... and here I am 20 years later doing just that.

This morning I read in an email.. ( I think things come into our lives for a reason) that aging is the most natural thing to do. It' s how we age that matters.

Think about that today... how are you aging? Of course, I feel my age today with the flu but I know when I'm better I will make my days count. Look up and see the beauty of the day wherever you are. When was the last time you just looked up at the sky and really saw it?!

oh so true. I’m sorry you’re battling the flu. Praying for a recovery soon. I was diagnosed with covid yesterday. We don’t have time for all this stuff but we know it’s temporary. Speaking of age, I’m 70 but I don’t think it or act it. We only grow older on the outside. I try to hang onto my younger spirit. You take care of yourself. Sending prayers 🙏🏻

I love the phrase 'younger spirit'. We need to keep that mindset don't we. We can easily get bogged down with the number.... and it is only a number.

I love looking at the sky, I make animals out of the clouds and admire the night skies, when its not cloudy, we have had some wonderful night skies recently with the alignment of planets but it is a tad too cold to stay outside long. When Haley's comet went by there was a good deal of excitement here.

Happy belated birthday and wish you fully recovered soon.

I’m sorry to hear that you had to “celebrate” your birthday with the flu, Donna. Happy belated! Here’s to better short term health for a delayed celebration and then to good health on the long term as well. 🎂
