My computer has not been showing Health unlocked for a while so I am not aware if this issue has already been discussed. Apologies if it has. I am 84 , 80 is the cut off date to get the RSV jab but my daughter feels that because I have PBC and Sjogrens with a compromised immune system , it should be available for all PBC patients. Has anyone else questioned this?

RSV jab

The CDC recommends the RSV vaccine for adults 75 and older, and for adults 60–74 who are at high risk of severe RSV. The CDC also recommends the RSV vaccine for pregnant women.
Adults
All adults 75 and older should get the RSV vaccine
Adults 60–74 should get the RSV vaccine if they have a high risk of severe RSV
Risk factors include chronic heart or lung , a weakened immune system, diabetes, or living in a nursing home
I hope this helps, Oidra. What harm can it do especially having a weakened immune system from PBC.
It might be worth having a word with your GP, as they are the administrators of the vaccine the HSA in the UK , say from age 75 up to your 80th birthday. But does mention weakened immune systems and pregnancy but doesn’t specify who with weak immune systems. Do people with PBC have a weakened immune system, I always thought we had an overactive one. If so I’ve learned something today 15 years in.
I agree with Candy12 I would ask the doctor. My husband took up the offer of the vaccine but I was not offered it. The guidelines seem to differ here in the UK so I have found a link to NHS England. england.nhs.uk/long-read/rs...
I have to wonder though why it is not considered relevant to those over 80!
