Just a quick question: I’m still waiting on my appointment for hi & liver, but in the meantime, I’ve also received an invite for cancer screening. Back story, in sept-23 on a routine gp visit, my dr found a lump, therefore fast tracked me to the breast clinic. Luckily after thorough physical & mammogram, it was a fatty non malignant lump. So I wasn’t expecting another for a year or so.
Okay, so question is, would this be an ‘also’ check to narrow things down & tick the boxes?
It might be a coincidence that this has come now, but I was wondering if this is something others have been referred to ?

I called my GP & the screening centre, & both suggested I attend even tho it is early, but did not expand on that. I also called the liver clinic as was supposed to have received an appointment by Wednesday but apparently it’s still being triaged in the referral… which I find very odd as the lady I spoke to confirmed it is on the system as very urgent. I wondered if it might of been part of the triaging, but as AMA is PBC orientated, I can’t see why they would screen.
Health care in any country can be odd. I think it will give you peace of mind to get that cancer screening done with. Is this the first time you will be seeing a hepatologist for the PBC? Are you already taking Urso prescribed by someone?
