A Real Gift

After fighting a fungal rash since last April, i can finally say today that it is GONE! I have never had rashes before, and don’t really know if it is connected to PBC or not, but it took a lot of trial and error with my GP (Bless him!) until we found a solution! Has anybody else have this happen? Or was it just a fluke? I happened to be in hot and humid temperatures at the time, so…. To have this gone is a great gift!

Happy Holidays, everyone.

How horrid for you, glad you and your doctor have managed to find a solution. Humidity can be a cause of fungal rashes. Enjoy your Christmas.

So glad for you! I know for me whenever I was in hot conditions or even a hot shower, it made my itching so much worse with red itchy bumps on my legs. Yours sounds so much worse. Thanks for sharing with us... what finally helped you?

i stumbled upon it at first….i just thought….if this is fungal rash, then it is caused by too much yeast on my body….so…there is an OTC pill, Diflucan, (not sure if it is OTC in the US) which can be taken for vaginal yeast infections. I went to the pharmacy and bought two of them (20 dollars each) and took them three days apart. I kept applying Canesten cream…and…it started to go away…a little. I called my doctor and he said…”Let’s try this…if it doesn’t work, I’m afraid you would probably need an immunosuppressant. “. It was 7 days of a pill called TERBENAFINE….followed with two different creams, four times a day. I still have brown pigment, but i don’t care, I don’t have hives and i don’t ITCH! I wonder when i go back to humid temperatures in January, will it return, or do you think if i continue to wash with SELSUN BLUE EXTRA STRENGTH, it will stay away?

Hot showers, hot temps, chlorine, and direct sun for any prolonged time really made my itch worse. I always used just Dial, Dove, or Baby Magic soap on my body. If you use that Selsun on your hair? keep using it! don't tempt fate....

I also had a fungal rash at my bra line. Never had it before lasted a good while but treated with an anti fungal cream and it went away. So weird to get this for the first time in my 61 years.

Did it stay away? I never had a rash in my 65 years, either. I am just praying that it stays away…i find now, i am more sensitive to things like tight spandex workout pants, tags on the inside of my clothes….

Yes so far it has. I agree, I am sensitive to the sun as well which I never was before.
