connection - a sense of closeness, agreement, and familiarity with another

In my previous support group, I was fortunate enough to travel to several cities to spend an afternoon meeting members face to face. Sharing experiences, concerns, fears and positive feelings about having PBC. It never ceases to amaze me that so many I've talked to feel there are certainly some positive about having this rare disease.

We've talked about this in this group earlier. I asked what positive has come out of having PBC. For many they felt they now appreciate so many of the smaller aspects of their lives that they may have taken for granted before.

Although we can't meet face to face in this group, I hope that reading replies and asking questions has led you feel that there is a definite connection with all of us. We experienced so many feelings when first diagnosed. Those feelings continue - and often change - as we live with this disease each in our own way. I know that when we feel there is someone who truly understands it can make those days less scary.

Staying connected is so important. We have said many times how lonely this disease can leave us. We often feel we are alone - with no one who understands. Never forget that there is always someone here who understands and can share a similar experience.

If someone is quite ready to post in the group, never hesitate to reach out to me privately in the 'chat' portion of the group.
