It's not my favorite subject but I want to talk about exercising a bit. Dr. Jones has some really good points about it.
1. Exercise has been proven to help with the fatigue. I know this sounds crazy but it 's true. Pushing yourself just to do anything is the hard part. It just makes us more healthy overall.
2. Find something that fits 'you'.... don't come up with a program that you know you won't stick to.
3. Finally, whatever you are doing now...do it more. Even if you increase your exercise time by
10% it will make a difference.
I know for me, it's just doing it. I really struggle with doing anything consistently... except for my water aerobics. I have been doing them for years even before Covid. Now if could just use my home exercise equipment for more than a clothes hanger!
How do you feel about exercise? what seems to work for you? what doesn't work?.

I love doing virtual reality games and exercise routine. I do body combat with Les Mills, beat saber and drumming for the Vikings with a game called Ragnarok.
I thought I had written a reply to your comment - not I can't find it. Anyway, thanks for telling us about this. I'm not familiar with this. Do you watch a video game while you are doing it?
It’s been around for awhile but it wasn’t that great but it has improved over the years. I use a meta quest 3 which is very good. If you are interested have a look on YouTube because there are videos of people using it and what games there are.
i find i feel so much better when i exercise. I went on an “lifestyle” change a few months before i was diagnosed I lost 25 lbs, am at my optimal weight and it was a combination of diet and exercise. The key is exercise. You can eat as healthy as you want, but if you do not exercise, you are going to get nowhere. So in my mind i was exercising my liver. My diet was primarily vegan and I included grains such as steel oats, barley, lentils, beans and quinoa. For breakfast I would eat a 1/2 a cantaloupe and then a couple hours later egg whites with onions and peppers. Fats were low-fat milk and olive oil. Roasted vegetables all day. as well as raw vegetables with the homemade hummus. I snack on cashews almonds peanuts hazelnuts etc This started in April Dinner was sautéed veges with quinoa
In September I reintroduced some foods back into my world. Like grilled chicken, occasional slice of pizza, 🍕 ice cream, etc even a martini here and there. Dark chocolate i had the entire time.
I power walk at least 4 times a week and when i am not walking i make time to stretch and do some floor exercises. It’s so hard to get into the routine but once you start you won’t stop knowing you are doing it to “live” I pray the ursodoil will work, i hope to live a long life.
So far I have maintained my weight loss and I feel healthy If i can do it anyone can No lie you just have to want to live
What a positive story you've related. I love your dedication. You are so right about just starting. I try to tell myself that I need to be patient. One day at a time does make a difference. Thanks for sharing what you've found helps your liver stay healthy. 😊
With the arrival of Spring here in Tasmania, after severe winds and lots of rain in the past month, the garden beckons and forces me out to get my exercise by lifting hedgetrimmer, using loppers and pruners, weeding, digging and turning soil, pushing wheelbarrow and lawnmower! It's certainly a good workout and luckily I enjoy gardening and being outdoors. I also try to keep fit by taking long walks whenever I can. At times it's exhausting and really have to push myself, but I always feel much better knowing it's beneficial for my health and wellbeing. Even though I do my best to eat healthily, it helps me justify the reward of a not so healthy sugary treat! 😉
Love all that you said here. I like to garden as well - yesterday it was pulling up all the wild seedlings that have sprouted up from Rose of Sharon bushes we have. I love to weed! I often think of not going to the water classes but sure enjoy it when I get there. What flowers do you have in your garden?
Hi Donna, great to know that you also enjoy gardening and weeding too! Your Rose of Sharon bushes must be lovely, are they are a type of Hibiscus? Wish I could have a few of the wild sprouting seedlings! My front garden is fairly formal with hedged borders of English Box and standard roses. l have lots of climbers including Jasmine and Banksia roses. In the large back garden it is mostly lawn with an assortment of shrubs, but mainly hydrangeas, geraniums and spring bulbs. Further down the block there's an assortment of fruit trees - (that all need pruning). Even though it's challenging to tend at times, I find it satisfying, theraputic and oddly enough switch off from all my health concerns 😊💐
It all sounds lovely, I would imagine Rose of Sharon are in the Hibiscus family. They are certainly prolific In my yard. Wish I could give you some too.😊
I definitely feel better when I exercise, and I can tell when I’ve fallen off the wagon for a bit, like currently. My staple has been meeting a friend every Sunday. We jog 2 miles, get coffee, then walk 4 more miles. I feel so good after this. My husband and I also try to take our dogs on a hike every Saturday.
It makes it so much easier when you work out with someone. I really believe it helps us to stay accountable when someone is counting on us. I have no doubt that you will get back on the wagon soon.
