Scotland bound....

I'll be leaving for The International PBC Summit in Edinburgh this Friday afternoon. I will return late on April 13th.

I am excited to meet some interesting experts in the field, hearing what they say about what's going on with PBC research and new thoughts about it. I know last year Dr. David Jones was there.

Last year I spent a whole day listening to several pharmaceutical companies present what they are working on for us.... for the itch, the brain fog, and the fatigue. One company even mentioned the word "cure"! One company felt strongly it was a 'blood- brain' barrier disconnect that causes PBC. I'm anxious to see if they have made more strides with this theory.

Not sure how often I will be able to post here as I will only be using my phone. I will do my best to keep tabs on the group.

Just wanted to let you know what's happening for me. Looking forward to bringing you some hopeful news when I return.

wishing you a safe journey, Donna and looking forward to hearing your feedback. I’m jealous of you being able to attend the conference. I live in SW Scotland but have a husband with Alzheimer’s and unable to travel.💋

You must be bringing better weather because today is the first day without rain for ages but my advice is to bring a waterproof coat😂 Hope we find time to meet for a coffee😃

Saw they were forecasting rain almost parts of everyday. Last year there was not a drop of rain the whole time I was there. Being in the hotel for 4 of the days helps... I will see if meeting works out and reach out to you.

I realise you will probably be very busy so I won’t be offended if you can’t fit it in. 😀

Do you have anytime today to meet at hotel for coffee or tea? I'm free most of day.

Safe travels! Hoping you have a chance to enjoy a bit of spring in Edinburgh!

I will be following and interested in hearing results on the rumored cures and any info on treatment for those of us with AIH or other overlapping conditions.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi DonnaHope you have a productive time .

I've had PBC for 12 yes now AIH overlap and cirrhosis.

I don't know whether they discuss cirrhosis but there's a new trial using Macrophage immune cells.

Prof Stuart Forbes who is based in Scotland and I'm interested if David Jones or any of the experts know about this.

Maybe you won't be able to ask but there doesn't seem to be much advice once you've reached compensated Cirrhosis.
