nausea

I see posts from those experiencing nausea. I’m not bothered with it but my question is, is this connected to our PBC or is something some experience like the itch that only some have. Donna Boll you may have insight on this.

Thanks.

I think I agree that everyone has PBC differently. Some experience some GI issues from the Urso until they get used to it. Others may have had problems with nausea from other health issues. It can be very hard to know what is causing 'what' when other issues are involved.

Thank you. I just didn’t know if it was a symptom associated with progression.

Speaking for myself, I never really had a nausea problem even though I did progress to the need for a transplant. Very few patients with PBC ever progress to the need for a new liver. I think it's safe to say that anyone can happen to any of us with PBC. There is nothing easy about PBC.

I think it can be said, PBC has a mind of its own. Each of us have to try and stay ahead of it and stay strong.

Thanks!

I suffer with nausea most of the time. It's been years. I forget about it until I have a day where all day is waves of nausea as other days nothing. Pbc is very unique to everyone but it is good to know sometimes symptoms are similar.

Do you have any medication thats been prescribed for the nausea? Being nauseated is the absolute worst feeling for me ever. There are several that are available here in the states anyway - not knowing where you live. Some find relief from Dramamine, Phenergan, Zofran, Ondansetron, Emetrol...... hopefully you can ( if you haven't already ) at least ask about taking something. Always make sure you check with your doctor before taking anything. He knows your history and any other medications you might take. This must be terrible for you on ' those days'.

No take nothing as already on azathioprine and benzofibrate. Take as little as possible or when necessary.

For me, nausea is the worst feeling. I just don't want anyone to have to experience that. Just so you know there are medications you can take. Thanks for responding about it though.
