Hi - I either read on this website or the PBC Facebook site in the last couple of weeks - referring to if potentially one day a liver transplant is needed, that being a specific blood group type can limit the number of potential donors you may have? I am the blood group Rhesus Negative and wondered if anyone knows this could limit liver donors one day?
And secondly, has anyone had one of their children be a live liver donor?
Thank you, any advice, feedback or thoughts would be welcome and appreciated

This would probably be a great question to ask at the next Q&A hosted by the PBC Foundation, usually on a Thursday. I appreciate this does not actually answer your question but I do not have personal experience to share.
In the meantime you may like to take a look at the following NHS link.
That is a great question. It would be interesting to find out. I have not thought of this as I am RH negative also. I will bring it up at my next Dr. appointment and post if I get an answer.
Please let me know if that’s okay if you ask your specialist at your next appointment. I’ve not got very far in finding out myself. Whenever anyone posts that they are fortunate to be having a liver transplant imminently I feel too awkward to ask. There seems no straightforward route with this PBC, its symptoms etc. take care x
