Hi,

I’m 55 and have had pbc for over 15 years and now also have stage 4 ckd. I was wondering if anyone else has been told by a dietician that you should be eating 50grams of carbs, before going to sleep so you don’t starve the liver. If you have what do you eat?

Thanks

Not anything I’d heard of for PBC itself, maybe it’s liver disease in general. I would be interested to know the answer of what to eat and why though as I don’t eat past 6 pm. I fast about 16 hours and I eat a lower carb for weight control. Maybe email the question to the PBC foundation Q&A session today to get the answer from the doctor they do a session most Thursdays at 2pm you can watch it back any on their Facebook page, if your not able to watch live.

I’ve never been told to eat anything by my GI, just take the Ursodoil and don’t drink. I crave carbs though. Recently my personal trainer has told me to eat meat and seafood protein. I’ve been ovopescatarian for years. I’ve been taking collagen supplements and having more eggs and chicken lately. Still I’m tired in the afternoon. Why is it so hard and so expensive to find a nutritionist to tell you what to eat?
