Hi dear friends.

It’s the time of my biannual lab tests. But I forgot to avoid drinking alcohol and I just took a small amount just for accompanying with friends Thursday. Should I post pone the test ?? If yes, how much?? 2days enough???

Thank you 🙏🏻

Usually they tell you to fast 24 hours for bloodwork. So 2 days should be fine.

Really 24 hours fasting for food? Or just for alcohol?

Fasting means no food or drinks except for plain water.

If you have been diagnosed with PBC, why are you still drinking alcohol? That is one of the worst things you can do for your liver. Going out with friends, have a virgin drink. Be good to yourself, especially your liver. I'm sure your friends would understand.

Yes you’re right. I won’t do anymore. Although I didn’t drink frequently.

I am not medical, but I doubt that you need to delay. However,, ask a medical professional, by all means.

We are allowed the occasional alcoholic drink, my consultant said I could have one alcoholic drink once a month. Just don’t drink alcohol before a blood test.
