metronidazole side effect normal?

I've been taking 400 mg metronidazole twice a day for BV im on a 7 day course of them. I've been getting some spotting/bleeding & some thick brown discharge i am not due my period for a fortnight. I've been trying to find out if this is a side effect other people have experienced as it's not labelled on the info leaflet

Sorry to see no one has been able to share a personal experience, I also gave no experience of this but wonder if a chat with your pharmacy or phone call to your doctor may be advisable. Let us know how you get on.
