Hi my friends.

I’ve recently heard about liver protective effect of this herb. Do any one think this may help us or is there anybody who have used this?

I was researching in google I found many data and got confused. Some saying this herb can improve cell regeneration and repair in liver. On the other hand there are articles which saying this herb has immuno modulation effect and may intract with autoimmune disease.

Can anyone help?

Reading on webmd seems as though there may be possible risk of toxicity on the liver...so I would be cautious.

I’ve read it before. So every drug or vitamins we take can possibly be harmful. I think we must wait until more researchs and trials will run and see the results.

I agree withHils67 - be cautious, also, many products for sale that claim (and may actually be) liver protective may not be helpful to those who already have liver issues. Surely no substance can protect us from getting PBC when we already have it? Thank you for your post. It's always good to hear what people are finding.

To add to this conversation, you should really run everything by your hepatologist before taking it as a precaution.

Thank you 🙏🏻 I will ask him next session. I saw one article he wrote about ganoderma in treating fatty liver disease.

I know it can’t protect getting pbc, I mean it may protect liver cells from more damage and so our liver will survive longer. As you said, no one is sure about this herbal things and I’m also frightened to giving it a try.

I understand. My view is that a whole-food varied and proportionate diet is better and safer than upsetting the balance with any particular processed added substance. I'm always looking for something easier to make me better than careful diet, exercise and plain old liking what I've got and avoiding worrying about what I have not. It's probably human nature. We are all doing our best? Thank you for reminding me!

My hepatologist has advised me to stay away from any and all her stuff as she is treating me with ursodiol and needs to know that it is working for my PBC. If I add herbs etc.. rather my counts goes up or down she will not know which is helping. So for now I'm using just the ursodiol. God bless each of you on this journey with PBC😊 "We shall survive"

Good point. Thank you. If we don't often see our doctor and we are dealing every day with health issues it's too easy to forget it's best to ask to ask them about these things.Thank you for your blessings. Best wishes

Thank for your kind guidance 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I think your advice is quite wise.

Isn’t there any miracle for us?😭😭

My consultant has agreed for me to carry on with my herbs as my comparative results with and without herbs show they clearly work for me and the Urso on it’s own doesn’t. But I did have to stay off them for a while so we could do the comparison. I’m now back on them for 6 months to see if they have effect, but I feel so much better back on them. But with my consultants blessing I’m glad to be able to take them. Everyone is different including each doctor.

Good morning. I also agree with 220681ok. At least, this is what my hepatologist and gastroenterologist have told me, herbs/herbal drinks which claim to be liver protective could actually do more damage to those of us who already have a liver condition. Balanced diet, exercise, good doctors and our meds can do the trick. As for miracles, well, I'm Muslim so yeah I do believe in miracles. Look at all the advanced (and still advancing) medicine nowadays, new meds, studies etc. Besides, the fact that we wake up in the morning, all ready to live our lives and laugh and fight and push through this ,well, that's a miracle by itself, isn't it? We are living with PBC because deep down we are all bad**s! 😉 Keep your chin up

Alhamdulillāh! We are all stronger together. Of course, our doctors are always the go-to people for questions but in the end, it's a personal choice too on some matters.

I thought I should share my experience. Coming from Asia, such medicinal mushroom is not new. I have been taking a blend of few mushrooms for the last 3 months ,just to see if it works. My recent blood test shows same rather normal level. so I will continue to take as I believe it needs longer time to take effect, shall update again.
